Robert Walker, Oil Specialist,
Cedar Bayou Power Station, Texas Genco
Attached are two photos of the oil storage facility at Cedar
Bayou Power station located in Houston, TX. part of Texas Genco
a subsidiary of Centerpoint Energy.

The first picture shows our use of Oil Safe dispensing containers
for temporary storage and transportation of lubricants, no other
containers are allowed to be used for oil dispersing.
Containers are checked and cleaned weekly to insure cleanliness
is maintained, each container is well marked for the type lubricant
used in that container and each container is stored in a marked
spot on the shelves to help prevent accidental use of the wrong
oil.
A lubrication list is provided listing each type of machinery
and the lubricant used for that equipment. Also shown are the
IFH storage and dispersing containers used for storing bulk top
off oils. Each container is filled through a three micron absolute
filter and all container vents are tube into a desiccant breather.
Each container is well marked with type and brand of oil on the
container and at the dispersing nozzle. As shown gloves, paper
towels and oil absorbent cloth are kept on hand should the need
arise or an oil spill occurs.

The second picture shows our bulk storage for lubricants, we
converted from fifty five gallon barrels to five gallon pails
which provides easier inventory, ease of handling should a larger
quantity of oil be needed up on the unit. Enough of each oil type
is kept on hand to do a complete change out of the largest reservoir
that uses that particular oil and no more than can be used in
a six month period insuring that all oils are kept will within
self life parameters.
The storage facility is completely enclosed to protect the lubricants
stored there safe from outside weather. Vent fans are provided
to help control temperature during hotter months.
