Transitioning to a New Lube Supplier

Everett Lear, Maintenance Supervisor, Weyerhaeuser

As a Maintenanance Supervisor in a new $100M, State of the Art, Particleboard Plant, I have been responsible for coordinating the setup and management of our plant Lubrication Program for the two years since plant startup.

I would require my new supplier's Engineering Support Group to provide me documentation relative to their reviewing each of my equipment applications to first ensure that their recommended lubricant met the manufacturer's specifications and second address compatability between the old and new lubricant. Any applications with identified compatability problems would be changed out at the next available Equipment Shutdown.
