Causes of Poor Gear Reducer Lubrication |
|
Items from the gear reducer standards in "Preventive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring Standards".
Too high oil temperature may form ineffective oil films and destroy seals. Too low oil temperature may thicken oil and restrict flow, thus some parts of reducer may not receive lubricant. Water in oil increases friction on wear surfaces. Foaming of oil may cause insufficient lubrication.
