Showcase Your Lube Room
Gregory Heger, Lubrication Specialist,
Great River Energy, Coal Creek Station

This is our world class lube-room at Great River Energy, Coal
Creek Station, Underwood North Dakota. This system is set up with
three types of lubrication; SHC’s (synthetic), Meropa’s (EP) and
R&O’s. There is a desiccant breather on each row, and there is
a separate transfer pump for each type of oil. The oil is transferred
from 55 gal. drums, (that have been sampled and analyzed) through
a 3 micron filter into the storage tanks, insuring clean dry oil
from the storage units.

This is one of the oil container storage cabinets at Coal Creek
Station. We have replaced all of the old galvanized containers
with plastic. Most of the plastic containers have a dispensing
tube to reduce the need for a funnel. The Oil Safe container lids
are color coded to the types of oil used at our plant site. According
to best practice procedures, funnels are stored in ziploc bags
and oil containers are labeled, sealed and have the proper MSDS
stickers attached. The grease tubes are stored in the upright
position with the proper MSDS stickers on them.

Here are two oil-dispensing carts that we have at Coal Creek
Station. For contamination control the carts are setup with discharge
filters and desiccant breathers. The discharge nozzle is sealed
in a plastic bag and stored in a tin box on top of the cart. These
carts are also supplied with rags and drip pans for house keeping
duties.
