Transitioning to a New Lube Supplier

Well somebody already let the horse out of the barn!
Immediately lock up all Supplier B product and issue it only
on a signed off compatibility review emergency need basis. B.
Get Supplier B on site.
(a) Get them to sign off on cross compatibility on any "top-up"
applications.
(b) Get them to plan and schedule needed lube supplies for any
Non-cross-compatable situations which might require flushing,
inspection port removal and/or tank cleaning.
(c) Have them do a comprehensive Lube survey of all equipment
to insure that "the right product goes in the machine".
(1) This should include Tagging/bar coding machines so that: The
proper fill gets put in the proper machine. The proper fill gets
charged to the correct asset number. The proper fill gets charged
to the correct repair order. Design an implementation plan to:
Use up all existing Supplier A product through normal service
procedures. Train all in house personnel in the implementation
plan and any special procedures required under item (b) above.
Consideration should be given to:
Mission critical equipment.
Situations where Supplier B has a product that will greatly extend
service intervals, or reduce energy consumption beyond the cost
value of Supplier A's remaining product quantities so that immediate
savings can be implemented.
Monitor, Monitor, Monitor the supplies, stockroom and implementation
Plan.
